UNHCR NGO and Civil Society Section and the
International Council of Voluntary Agencies (ICVA) would like to invite
representatives of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and civil society
organizations (CSOs) to the 2024 UNHCR Global Consultations
with NGOs that will take place in person in Geneva at the International
Conference Center Geneva (CICG) from 11 to 13 June 2024.
The 2024 Global Consultations will begin at
12:30 (CEST) on Tuesday 11 June and end at 17:30 (CEST) on Thursday 13 June.
Complementary events may be taking place on Friday 14 June in the morning.
Building on the 2023 Regional
Consultations with NGOs, the 2024 Global Consultations will focus on
"Solutions, Inclusion, and Gender Equality". Please find attached
the concept note for further details. More
information will be available on the website soon.
REGISTRATION:
Nominated representatives of NGOs and CSOs wishing to participate
to the event are requested to register via the online form before 30
April 2024 here: https://indico.un.org/e/globalconsultationsngo
Important notices:
- Participants
requiring a visa to enter Switzerland are required to register before 31
March 2024 to be provided with a visa support letter.
- Participants
register on behalf of their organization and need to provide an
accreditation letter for this purpose. Please use the attached
accreditation letter template, accreditation letters not respecting the
template cannot be accepted.
- Only
approved participants will be granted access to the event. Registration is
not a guarantee for approval, you will receive an email confirming your
approval.
- Approval
of registration will be given on a first come, first served basis (with
priority given based on the criteria detailed in the next section).
PARTICIPATION CRITERIA:
To ensure effective exchanges and concrete outcomes, the 2024
Global Consultations will adhere to the following parameters:
- NGO and CSO
participation of
maximum 200 representatives from organizations (including from
international, national, and local NGOs, faith-based organizations, and
organizations led by forcibly displaced and stateless persons). The number
of registered participants should not exceed 2 people per organization.
- NGOs and CSOs who
wish to participate must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Be
a member of ICVA.
- Have
consultative status with ECOSOC with a demonstrated interest in
solutions/inclusion or gender equality in the context of displacement and
statelessness.
- Be
a funded partner of UNHCR in 2023/2024.
- Be
a non-funded operational partner of UNHCR (with recommendations from the
UNHCR country office).
- Priority will
be given to organizations:
- according
to regional representation as well as local/global balance; and
- that
have engaged in the 2023 Regional Consultations with NGOs.
PREPARATORY WORK:
As part of the preparations for the 2024 UNHCR-NGO Global
Consultations, there will be a NGO-UNHCR Steering Group. It will work on putting into practice
the Principles of Partnership, the and developing of the Global Consultations to
make sure NGO views are equally presented as UNHCR in content creation. For

your application in English language by completing the dedicated online form by 8 March
CoB.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Additional information including
logistic details will be shared at a later stage with those whose registration
is accepted once we review applications. The present invitation is intended for the
organizations represented by the direct recipient of this
