About Us

Localization and Optimization of Response Mechanisms Initiative in Yemen (LORMIY) is a collaborative strategic movement undertaken to promote fair, equitable and dignified response in the current response system and to make humanitarian action more principled and effective by working collectively and independently to influence policy and practice. The initiative aims to promote the localization and optimization of humanitarian response mechanisms in Yemen, in alignment with the goals and principles of the grand bargain commitment and other local and international agenda. The initiative was launched on August 2021 and currently consist of more than 50 members from diverse sectors, national, local, WLOs, disability, youth led and the different type of local actors. The localization initiative is coordinated locally and internationally and affiliated with global localization networks such as ICVA, C4C, VENRO and NEAR.

Localization and Optimization of Response Mechanisms Initiative in Yemen (LORMIY) is a collaborative strategic movement aimed at promoting fair, equitable, and dignified humanitarian response within the current response system. The initiative seeks to enhance the effectiveness and principled nature of humanitarian action by working collectively and independently to influence policy and practice. LORMIY focuses on the localization and optimization of response mechanisms in Yemen, aligning with the goals and principles of the grand bargain commitment and other local and international agendas. Launched in August 2021, LORMIY currently comprises more than 50 members from diverse sectors, including national and local organizations, women-led organizations, disability organizations, youth-led groups, and various types of local actors. The initiative recognizes the importance of engaging and empowering local actors in humanitarian response efforts. LORMIY operates through local and international coordination, leveraging the expertise and resources of global localization networks such as ICVA, C4C, VENRO, and NEAR. By actively participating in these networks, LORMIY aims to strengthen its capacity, share best practices, and collaborate with other localization initiatives worldwide
